Passed away at Niagara Health System - Welland Site on Thursday, September 6th, 2018 in his 99th year. Beloved husband of Adriana (nee Loof) for over 69 years. Loving father of John Van Wely of Grimsby, Mary Carney of Port Dalhousie, Rob Van Wely (Jane) of Grimsby, Susan Schaafsma (Art) of Ridgetown, and Theodore Van Wely (Kathrin) of Burlington. Cherished and proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Dearly missed by his sister Joop (Joanne) Van Wely of Grimsby. Predeceased by his sisters, Nolda Beekenkamp, Carla Koorneef and Adriana Muysson. Visitation will be held at Mountainview Christian Reformed Church, 290 Main Street East, Grimsby, on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. where a Memorial Service will take place at on Tuesday, September 11th, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow. Private interment at Queen's Lawn Cemetery prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations made to NACE (Niagara Association for Christian Education) would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
