Obituary for Marjorie Bryce Booth (Richardson)

BOOTH, Marjorie Bryce (nee Richardson) -

It is with deep regret that the Booth family announces the passing of Marjorie Booth on Sunday May 27, a few days before the 74th anniversary of her marriage to her beloved husband Harry (1989). Born in West Hartlepool County Durham she then moved to Stoke on Trent. After graduating from Brownhills School she served in WW2 as a research librarian for the British Ceramic Research Association. In 1957 she emigrated to Lachute, Quebec and in 1984 she moved to Burlington, Ontario. Despite advanced macular degeneration she continued to be a highly proficient duplicate bridge player and a tough opponent. She is survived by her two sons, Jonathan and Matthew, her two daughters in law, Coby and Ellen, her grandchildren, Jeremy, Marcus and Alexander, his wife Kelly and her great grandson Nathan. Wherever she lived she created a wide circle of friends and influenced many lives. Gregarious, courageous, elegant and self-determined she did it her way. In lieu of flowers or cards we would ask that donations in her name be made to the CNIB.
