Obituary for James G. "Jim" Williamson

Jim passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital after an extended illness. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Lenore Nonetta (nee Hancocks) Williamson. He is survived by his children Jim (Lenore), John (Debbie), Michael (Pamela), and Michelle and his grandchildren, Kristen (Andrew), Jessica, James, Johnny, Natalie, Nicole and Michael. Great-grandchildren are Archer and Alora.
Jim served as Union President of Local 4444 for many years at Stanley Steel which later became Cold Metal Products. After his retirement he worked for a time at CAP Brick. He was born in Saint John, New Brunswick to Theresa (Coyle) Jenkins-Williamson and William Williamson and is also predeceased by 5 brothers and 5 sisters. He leaves behind one sister, Constance and many beloved nieces and nephews in the Jenkins and Williamson families. Jim’s greatest joy in life was time spent with his family. He had horses as a young boy and a favorite “Honey Luxure”. He enjoyed hockey and spent years coaching youth in Burlington. He wrestled professionally in the 1960’s and he was an active participant in Civic Matters in Burlington. He was a very active senior who will be missed by many friends and family. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Hamilton Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, any donations made to Diabetes Canada or Wesley Urban Ministries would be greatly appreciated by the family.
