Surrounded by his loving family, at The Carpenter Hospice in Burlington, on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the age of 75. Beloved husband and best friend of Brenda (nee Gordon) for 51 years. Devoted father of John and his wife Jennifer, and Michelle Hegge and her husband Cameron. Proud grandfather of J.D., Michael, Dallas and Sarah. Brother of Bill and his wife Colleen, Alan and his wife Bonnie and the late Carol McCartney and her husband Ed. Brother-in-law of Douglas Gordon and his wife Trish. Doug is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Doug was a member of the Rotary Club of Burlington for over 25 years. He enjoyed Curling at the Burlington Golf and Country Club, and golfing with the Silver Sliders and Cactus Group, but his greatest pleasure came from spending time with his family. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Doug's life will take place at The Burlington Golf and Country Club on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 1 to 4 PM. The family would like to take this time to thank the compassionate staff at The Carpenter Hospice, Dr. Mo Ali and Dr. Courtney Field for all their care, support and guidance during this time.
