Obituary for Wayne Scott



SCOTT, Wayne -
December 31, 1939 – August 23, 2016

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Wayne on August 23, 2016, peacefully and with his family by his side. Wayne fought a courageous battle after suffering a crippling stroke in Florida on March 28, 2016. He was 76. Predeceased by his parents and 2 older brothers; Bryne (April 2012) and Keith (November 2012). He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth (nee Hall) and sons Kevin (Darlene) and Craig; nieces Sharon (Tony), Kathy (Tim), Rebecca, Susan (Archie) and nephew Shaun (Diane); brother-in-law Gordon Hall (Lorraine) and nephews Boyd (Andrea), Dean (Trish) and cousins. Wayne will be remembered for his work with the Boys Minor Hockey League and Lacrosse League in the 1970’s. He retired in 2007 from KOR engineering and for the next 10 winters, he enjoyed life as a Canadian Snowbird in Florida with his wife. Private cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Wayne’s life will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line, (one Block North of the QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 4-7 p.m., with tributes beginning at 5 p.m. To celebrate Wayne’s love of the outdoors, guests are invited to wear their favorite baseball hat or sunhat to the gathering. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be much appreciated by the family.
