Robert "Bruce" Goodbrand
GOODBRAND, Robert “Bruce”

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Bruce at Juravinski Hospital on Monday, January 28th at the age of 68. Predeceased by his parents George and Jean Goodbrand and his son Kevin Charles (1982). Devoted and loving husband to Carol (nee Williamson) for 42 years. Beloved father of Jeffrey Goodbrand (April), Michelle Hamilton (Scott) and Michael Goodbrand (Lisa). Doting and adored Papa to Owen, Nathan, Zachary, Isobel, Ella and Harper. Dear brother of Lynda Grzech (Ron). “Thorn in your side” son-in-law to Bea Sams, of whom he shared a unique and ongoing competitive banter with. Brother-in-law to Diane Brecht, John Williamson (Lynn) and the late Renee Williamson. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by friends Darryl and Gerry Reed, George and Debbie Hudson, and Bob and Terry Nelson. Bruce worked for over 40 years as a Lab Tech at the Hamilton Public Health Lab. He was an avid Hamilton TiCat fan, enjoyed his yearly moose hunting trips and tried to fit in as much golf as possible, whether playing or watching on TV. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses who took such great care of Bruce during his stay. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Monday, February 4, 2019 from 3 – 5 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m., where a Service of Remembrance will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 1 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Bruce to the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated.
