Condolence From: Lynn Vallee
Condolence: For 35 years I was blessed to have this wonderful man in my life. ❤️

Although he was my father-in-law he preferred me to always call him my Dad. “Dad” he was. I always looked forward to being greeted with his huge hug, wide smile and sense of humour ...asking me if he could get me a 1/2 a beer? whenever there was a gathering at the Scobie house... chuckling as he went to fetch it.

He was “the bartender” at every Scobie gathering making sure everyone was well quenched while dear Jean was offering yummy homemade treats. Parties were the best at the house by the lake!

I loved listening to his stories about “the old days” , living in Hamilton and how he built his house, that he was so proud of. He continued through the years persistently maintaining his property, keeping it immaculate and picture perfect!

Dad was a wealth of information keeping up with the latest local and worldly news and pointing out important facts that he’d read about. ( whether we were really interested or not... we listened respectfully)

Dad was a very compassionate and caring grandfather. Watching him react to Robyn and Kristyn as babies and through their adult lives was a joy, he was so proud of both the girls.

We will all miss him dearly, but his memories will linger forever in our hearts as we reminisce remembering his hugs, smiles and awesome sense of humour.

Love you Dad xo
You will always be close to my ❤️

Condolence From: To the Scobie Family
Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of Roy's passing. ( I never new his given name was Joseph).
I first met Roy in the spring of 1970 when I started my first "real" job at Otis.
I have never met a better , nicer man in all of my 70 years. I will always remember how kind & patient he was with the "new kid". I found we also shared a passion for motorcycles. Over the years I have often thought of Roy & intended to get in touch again. We lost my brother recently, so I know words don't help much, but know that all of you & Roy will be in my thoughts & prayers.
