It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Sandra Andersen at her residence at Hearthstone by the Lake in Burlington, Ontario, on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the age of 79. Predeceased by her husband Heine Andersen (2015) and parents Earle and Helen (nee Parker) Giles. Cherished sister of Margaret (Peggy) Steele (the late Murray Steele) and brother Peter Giles (Mary). Sandra is also survived by many nieces and nephews both in Canada and Denmark.. She was born in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, and following her graduation from Acadia University moved to Toronto, Ontario where she had a successful career with the Department of Labour as a computer programmer. Sandra and Heine enjoyed many trips to Denmark and Nova Scotia as well as other numerous excursions around the world. She loved her nieces and nephews dearly and treasured the many friends she made over the years. Her family was very special to her. Her sense of humour, determination to overcome challenges, and her wonderful smile will be missed by many.
