Alton, Barbara Joan (nee Blackburn)

Passed away peacefully at Appleby Place, on September 4, 2018, at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Bruce (2008). Loving mother to Deborah (Mark), Ronald, Mary Jane, and Kathryn (Keith). Cherished grandmother of Tyler, Bryce, Emma, Jennifer, and Adam. Barb is survived by her sister Carol. Barb was a lifelong member of the United Church, remaining an active member of Nelson United Church, both in the choir and as an organist. Special thanks to Norma and Donna for their care and compassion. Thank you also to Gord for his love, support and friendship over the past few years.

Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m. where a Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with reception to follow. Interment Bethel Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
