GUERTIN, Denys Georges Joseph “Big D”

Passed away peacefully at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the age of 72 with his children by his side. Predeceased by devoted parents Georges and Lorraine. Loving father of Denny Guertin (Araceli), Kerri Felicetti (Dino), Jennifer Dufour (Mike) and Courtney MacIntyre (Stuart). Proud grandfather of Dalia, Denise and Desirée Guertin, Lucas and Ben Felicetti, and Charlie and Georgia Dufour. Dear brother of Janet, Paulette and Georgie. Denys will also be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, other extended family and friends. Denys was a man of integrity and valued the importance of work ethic. He was the most giving man and would do anything for those he loved. He always strived to ensure everyone was taken care of. Denys was driven to be the best at his job, leaving his mark after retiring as the Vice President of Sales at Dural. Not only was Denys driven by his career, but was also a dedicated father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all. A sincere thank you to the staff at Juravinski Hospital- Hamilton Health Sciences (3C Oncology, Dr. Hotte and Deb Evans, CNS). As per his wishes, private cremation has taken place. A Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 6-9pm. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Gabriel Roman Catholic Church (2261 Parkway Drive, Burlington), on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 11am. Reception to immediately follow at the Water St. Cooker (2084 Old Lakeshore Rd., Burlington). In memory of Denys, donations to the Cancer Assistance Program (CAP) would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
