Marija  Shackleton (Matkovic)
SHACKLETON, Marija (nee Matkovic)-
Peacefully passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital, Hamilton, on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the age of 61. Cherished and devoted wife of Bill for 33 years. Beloved daughter of Marija and the late Martin Matkovic and daughter-in-law of Pauline Shackleton and the late Bill. Much loved sister of Martin Matkovic (Marion Sault) and the late Tony Matkovic. Dear sister-in-law of Debbie (Steve Vine) and Janice (Michael Salter). Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family, colleagues and many friends. Marija had a heart for the elderly and enjoyed working with the retired Sisters residing at the Notre Dame Convent in Waterdown. She will be sadly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of the QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333 on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. where a Funeral Liturgy and Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow at the Funeral Home. If desired, donations to a charity of your choice in Marija’s memory would be appreciated by her family. Special thanks to the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital for their care and compassion in her final days.
