Peacefully at The Carpenter Hospice on Friday, July 27, 2018 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Beryl Gilbert (Williams, nee Yochim). Predeceased by his first wife Irene Gilbert (September, 1995). Loving father of Judy Gilbert, Diane Erskine (John), Helen Lewis (Stan) and step father of Shirley McGrath (Doug), Brenda Vanderveen (Henry) and Darlene Vanderweide (Peter). Cherished grandfather of Glenn (Darcy), Janette (Wayne), Brian (Sarah), Peter (Tracy), Joanne, Christopher (Mickie), Leah (Michael), Pastor Andrew (Sarah), Sarah, Tim (Miranda), Amanda (Jason), Heidi, Laura, Joshua and great grandfather of Carter, Madelyn, Liam, Summer, Kaden, Emma, Maeva, Jovee, Alexandra, Hunter, Kiai, Hailey, Isaac, Isla, Emily, Thomas, Declan, Kesler, Maya and Malichi. Survived by his brothers William, Denis (Lois) and Gordon (Bev). As per Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Private Interment Burlington Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be he held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 9:30a.m. until the time of a Celebration of Bob’s life in the funeral home chapel at 10:30a.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bob are asked to please consider The Carpenter Hospice.
