Mrs. Carol Anne Gaede, of Grimsby, Ontario, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2018 at the age of 71 after battling a long illness.

Carol was born on May 30, 1947 in Grimsby, Ontario. She met her husband of 49 years, Harald, in high-school and they were married in 1969. Seven years later they had a son named Daniel and Carol began her long career as a devoted and caring mother who lived to guide and protect her family. In 2001 she welcomed a new member to that family when Shauna and Daniel were married. In 2007 she joyfully met her granddaughter Audrey whom she adored.

Carol will be remembered most for her warmheartedness, compassion and friendship to those that knew her. She wanted the best for everyone; always thinking of others before herself. An avid sports fan, she loved following hockey and baseball most of all.

Carol will be loved and missed by her surviving husband, Harald; son, Danny; sister, Linda, and mother-in-law, Joan. She is predeceased by her father, Cliff and sister Sharon.

At Carol’s request, no services will be held, but a memorial will take place in the coming weeks at the family home. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to McNally House Hospice who took such amazing care of her and her family in her final days.
