Obituary for Roger Newton Tipple

Roger Newton Tipple
TIPPLE, Roger Newton -
1946-2018

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington on Sunday April 29, 2018, in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Joy Tipple (nee Huether) for 46 years, and devoted father of Jonathon Tipple (Jocelyne) and Sarah Tipple. Proud and cherished grandfather of Owen, Evan and Lila Tipple. Dear brother of Sheila Chisholm (Dave), and brother-in-law of Brian Huether (Dianne), Dave Huether (Angela), and Joan Ritchie (Gary). Survived by his devoted mother Bettina Tipple (late Victor). Roger will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, great niece and nephews, and other extended family. Roger always put family first but enjoyed his many friends from the British Saloon Car Club which he started in 1994. He retired from Procor Rail Car Leasing with 31 years of service. He will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and as a loving and supportive Dad and Grandpa. He was fortunate to have support from so many loving family members and very dear friends, both local and long distance. Roger’s family wishes to extend their thanks to all of the doctors, nurses and medical staff (too many names to mention) from Juravinski Hospital and Joseph Brant Hospital for the excellent care provided. As per Roger’s wishes, Private Cremation has taken place. A Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 12 noon until 1:00pm when a Service of Remembrance will begin to celebrate Roger’s life. Reception to follow at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Roger to the Prostate Cancer Foundation or Mission Services would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
