William Charles "Bill" Pierce
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton at the age of 70. Beloved husband of Cristina Pierce. Cherished father of Alexandra Balasa and Raluca Balasa. Dear brother of Martin Pierce (Rebecca). Predeceased by his sister Mary Jane Verner. An avid cyclist, brewer, as well as gifted writer and film critic, Bill possessed talents as multifaceted as his personality. He was known as the “serious professor,” yet would take you aback in a heartbeat with a softer, sillier side that ranged from cuddling with the cats, to a hyper-realistic impression of a cow’s moo. Bill will be sadly missed by his brother-in-law Rob Verner (Peggy), nieces Becky Verner and Elizabeth Scheiderer (John), grand-niece Emilee Scheiderer as well as his mother-in-law Aneta Ionescu. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block North of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, April 30 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Woodland Cemetery to follow. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the Juravinski Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
