Obituary for Richard Douda McQueen

McQUEEN, Richard Douda
April 16, 1934 – April 23, 2018
Rich passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband of Marion for 53 years. Loving dad to Alyson, Karen and Laura and their husbands Dave, Philip and Bruce. Cherished grandfather of Sam, Abby, Ellery, Ben, Noah and Sophie. He will be dearly missed by his extended family and many friends. Rich attended and played football for Westdale Secondary School and McMaster University. He worked as a teacher and Vice Principal at several secondary schools in Hamilton. Rich touched the lives of many and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. Special thank you to the staff of CCAC for their care and compassion through Rich's journey and to the PSW's who made it possible for us to care for him at home. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block North of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Celebration of Life will be held at Wellington Square United Church, 2121 Caroline Street, Burlington on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Rich are asked to please consider the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board Foundation.
