Anne MILLS (1930-2018)
Peacefully, on March 15, 2018, in her 88th year, Anne Mills (nee Shutt) at Carpenter Hospice in Burlington, Ontario. Loving wife of the late Anthony, Anne was the much beloved mother of Christine (Matt), Lesley, John and Robert (Michelle), and adoring Nana to Alexander (Jessica), Lucas, Samuel, Nathan, Dale, Cleo, Desmond, Abbey, Sadie and Odin, and doting “Nana the Great” to Graham. Born in Hamilton, Anne lived in Hamilton, Burlington and Waterdown, Ontario and was a legal secretary for much of her working life. Anne was a proud and supportive mother, and a kind and caring soul who stayed connected with family and friends across many years and many miles. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at The Williamsburg and at Carpenter Hospice for all of their care and attention in Anne’s final weeks and days. A celebration of Anne’s life will be held on Friday, March 23rd, 2018, 1 to 3 p.m. in the Café Annex at the Royal Botanical Gardens, 680 Plains Road West, Burlington, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Carpenter Hospice and the Canadian Cancer Society would be welcomed.
