Obituary for Nancy Murphy
Anne Theresa “Nancy” Murphy (nee Guest)
July 6, 1930 - March 13 , 2018
Nancy passed away peacefully at The Orchards, Vineland, in her 88th year. Born in St. Helens, Lancashire, England, Nancy was only nine years old when the Second World War changed the lives of many. Daily life included bombing raids and rations. These experiences shaped Nancy’s life long traits of tenacity and a strong aversion to waste. Nancy was a devoted wife to Dr. Patrick Vincent Murphy (deceased 2007) for 52 years. Cremation has taken place and according to Nancy’s wishes her ashes will be brought “home” to Castletownbere, Ireland, so that she can be reunited with her beloved “Paddy”. Nancy was never idle and was a gifted baker and an enthusiastic gardener. A loving mother and grandmother, unwavering in her support, Nancy always put others before herself.
