Obituary for John Kennedy "Jack" King MD

John Kennedy "Jack"  King MD
Passed away peacefully at Sunrise of Mississauga, on Thursday, January 11, 2018, in his 88th year. Son of the late Dr. George and Florence King. Survived by his sisters Mary Joan (the late Don) and Lenore (the late John). Beloved husband of the late Florence "Margaret" King (2016). Cherished father of John and Martha (Joe). Proud grandpa of Bailey, Nathan and Janine and great-grandfather of Sydney. He will be greatly missed by his extended family and friends. He was born in Milton, Ontario on March 3, 1930. He graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School in 1954 finishing 12th in a field of 156. What an accomplishment! He dedicated his life's work to West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Grimsby for approximately 40 years. He was an avid walker and was always accompanied by one of the family pets (Della, Molly, Casey, Amy, Elle). He was a member of the Grimsby Lions Club and later the Probus Club of Grimsby. Following retirement, he filled his days with golfing and curling. He will be remembered as a quiet gentleman devoted to his family. The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Sunrise of Mississauga for the care and compassion displayed for "Dr. Jack" over the past 15 months. Thank you to family and friends who regularly checked in to see how dad was doing. To Carol Drenth, we are so grateful for your friendship and loyalty to our family over the past 30 years. We are so grateful to Edson lbay, dad's private PSW for the past 10 months, you went above and beyond the call of duty. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 12 p.m. until the time of a Service of Remembrance in the Chapel at 1 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions to West Lincoln Memorial Hospital or The Alzheimers Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
