Obituary for William David "Bill" Primeau

William David "Bill" Primeau
PRIMEAU, William David

Died peacefully in his 68th year at The Village of Tansley Woods Long Term Care Facility in Burlington, Ontario on December 9, 2017. Predeceased by his parents, Burton and Marjorie Primeau, he leaves behind his sons Philippe (Ayala) and Daniel (Sylwia), his brother Robert (Brenda), his two beloved nephews Ryan (Kristin) and Bobby, along with grandsons Uriya and Eitan. Bill was an honours graduate of McMaster University, receiving his Bachelor of Commerce in 1972 and his Master of Business Administration in 1973. Following graduation, he began his career in the petro chemical industry, ultimately relocating from Toronto to Calgary, where he worked in recruitment, training and development before suffering a brain injury resulting from a brain tumor in 1983. From that point, while he was not able to return to work, he remained an active volunteer in Calgary for many years as he battled the effects of his injury with great courage and dignity, never once complaining about his situation. He was devoted to family above all, and returned to Burlington in 2003 to be nearer to his parents and family. We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the staff from the Brant Home area at the Village of Tansley Woods for their care and commitment to Bill for the many years he lived there. A special thank you to Dr. Chris Ragonetti for his care and guidance, and for being able to match wits with Bill during their many conversations over the years. A most special thank you to Marilyn and Paul Dyck of Calgary for their friendship and devotion to Bill during his time in Calgary. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 5-8 p.m. Service of Remembrance will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Wednesday, December 13 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Parkinson’s Society would be appreciated.
