Obituary for Margaret "Marney" Dale

Margaret (Marney) Dale (nee Francis)
1 October 1923 ~ 31 October 2017
Marney is gone. After 94 years of living, laughter and loving, her bright light is finally extinguished.
Marney is gone--in search of the 2 husbands and the many others she loved but lost to death over the passage of time. She was privileged to live an extraordinary life in an extraordinary time. And in her varied roles as beauty queen, amateur actress, mother, astrologer, radio personality, artist, college lecturer, and world traveler she lived large and gave it her all.
Marney is gone. But she began leaving us 15 years ago when, after a mild stroke and the ensuing ravages of time began consuming her body, she was confined to a wheelchair and assisted care living at Tansley Woods in Burlington.
Marney is gone. But she is survived by 4 healthy and happy children, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren who will always treasure many memories of their happy-go-lucky, life-of-the-party ancestor--who they affectionately called “Sexy Marney!”
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at The Village of Tansley Woods, at the age of 94. Predeceased by her husband Keith. Loving mother to Linda Weeks (Vince), Rodney (Wendy), Richard “Rick” (Lynn), and Nancy Campbell (Bill). Cherished grandmother to Julie (Dan), Trevor (Melanie), Steven (Kirsty), Andrew (Alexandra), Matthew (Alison), Allison (Brandon), Kevin (Jamie), Ryan and Colin. Great grandmother to 8. Predeceased by sister Ruth and her husband Robert and brother Lewis. Survived by sister in law Joanne. Dearly missed by long-time friend Willi Possiel and her husband Keith.
Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Sunday, November 5 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Reception to follow. Private interment at a later date. For those who wish, donations to a charity of your choice or an act of kindness would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
