CAPEL, William (Bill)
Surrounded by family, Bill passed away peacefully at The Village of Tansley Woods, on October 29, 2017, five days short of his 93rd birthday. Beloved husband of Beth. Predeceased by his first wife Barbara. Loving father and father-in-law of Sue & Jeff Parr, and Nancy & Jamie Young. Proud grandfather of Alex Parr and his wife Jacqueline, Scott Parr and his wife Kate, Brad Young and his partner Jelaine, Jenn Young and her husband Ross. Great-grandfather of Baden Young. Brother of Bob Capel (Pat), and predeceased by brother Don Capel (Marg), and Marion Bird (Doug). Bill began his teaching career in 1949 in Oakville at OTHS, and transferred to T. A. Blakelock when it opened in 1957. He remained there until his retirement in 1982. He will be remembered for having a twinkle in his eye, a joke on his lips and his piano skills. Bill always loved playing weekly hockey games with his fellow teachers, a good game of bridge, and spending the summers at his beloved island on Lake Temagami. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Wednesday, November 8th, 2017 from 7-9pm. A service of remembrance will take place at The Village of Tansley Woods (4100 Upper Middle Road, Burlington) Thursday, November 9th, 2017 at 2:15pm. Reception to follow. For those who wish, donations in memory of Bill can be made to The Alzheimer Society of Canada.
