It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Giuseppe at the Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Maria for 44 years. Loved father of Salvador (Eve), the late Giovanni, Teresa (Alessandro), Caterina (Peter), Giuseppe (Heather), Angela (Robert), Antonio (Valentina) and Mario (Jennifer). Cherished Nonno of Veronica, Bianca, Alexsandria, Johnny, Jessica, Joey, Ricky, Sofia, Sarah, Julia, Luc, Antonio, Isabella, Oliver, Rocco and the late Tessa Lauren. Predeceased by his siblings Antonio, Caterina and Maria. Predeceased also by his parents Salvatore and Teresa. Dear brother-in-law of Angelina, Domenico, Giovanni, Antonietta, Francesco and the late Mario. Missed also by many nieces, nephews and countless friends. Giuseppe came to Canada with nothing and built his paradise here with his family. He was a strong man who fought to the end. He is especially remembered for his big heart and always making people laugh. Special thanks to Dr. Savatteri, Dr. Di Paolo and to the staff of the Hamilton General Hospital for their care and compassion. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayer Vigil 8:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway # 8, Stoney Creek on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
