Sydney, the bonding agent in our family. The bonds strengthen by the many diverse stories he told. If we were to ask you to raise your hands if you have heard Sydney tell a great story, we are sure all of you would have your hands high in the air. If we were to ask you if you had heard the same story twice, once again, rest assured that you would all raise your hands. Unfortunately, with Sydney's passing the story telling has ended. All of us in Vancouver (now numbering over 20) will miss him!

I knew Syd in the 1980s and our paths parted thereafter. But he is one of those folks one doesn't forget. I have a vivid recollection of him at Central having emerged filthy dirty from some dungeon-like space in the bowels of the church. He was smiling, he was joking (self-deprecating), and his eyes twinkled. And that was the Syd I knew: humorous, taking things seriously but not necessarily himself, good company, and a fine man: I won't forget him. My sincere condolences.

Syd was a true gentleman who always made time for others. He was generous in sharing his knowledge, had an infectious smile and told the best jokes. Syd was a long time ambassador for the commercial real estate industry and someone you always wanted to run into at industry events.
