Obituary for Eva Frances Staneff

Our dearest mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, affectionately known as Baba G., has flown straight into the waiting embrace of her Lord. There she will renunite with her husband Peter. Loved mother of Anne Marie Hodges (Dennis) and Patricia Connelly (James). Cherished grandmother of Matthew Hodges (Amanda), Kyle Hodges (Amber), Zoe Connelly and Holly Connelly and great-grandmother of Reed, Sawyer, Jude, Ayla and Kobin. Predeceased by her sisters Florence Penoff, Anna Lahaie, Patricia O'Grady, Gladys Owen and Jean Belanger. Eva graduated from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Hamilton in 1951 and during her 42 year tenure enriched many lives. She was intimately involved with the Charismatic Movement during the 70's and 80's, as well as the Association of Christian Therapists International and Canadian Divisions. She has setup a rich, spiritual legacy and has touched the hearts of many with her formulation of bereavement programs for various parishes and communities. Eva was been a pillar of strength and love to everyone who knew her and she sought eternally to comfort, nurture and heal all suffering, as does the Blessed Mother of All. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, from 3-5 and 6-9 p.m. Prayer Vigil Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 135 Livingston Avenue, Grimsby, on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow with interment at Queen's Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to Rose Cottage Visiting Volunteers, West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation, or the Association of Christian Therapists - Canadian Division would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
