Obituary for Harold Alexander "Sandy" Atkinson

It is with heavy hearts and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Harold Alexander Atkinson (Sandy) on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. Sandy is predeceased by his parents Harold and Audrey Atkinson. Survived by sisters Judy McDonnell (Scott), Wendy Shorthouse (Bob) and Mary Lou Van Duzen and brothers Doug and Perry Atkinson (Kara). He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Sandy grew up in Grimsby and worked a Laurel Steel for many years. He was a 44 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 127. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Diana Otis for all of her care and concern. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. If desired, memorial contributions to McNally House or a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
