Obituary for Arlene Lily Wilcock

With her daughters at her side, Arlene, age 65, passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton on Sunday, August 13, 2017. Born in Ottawa, she was the daughter of the late Helen (nee McGovern) and Albert Wilcock. Dear mother to daughters Angela (Scott) and Christi Musico as well as cats Josie and Aurora. Cherished sister to Jim Wilcock and Ross Wilcock (Aline). Loved step-mother to David Musico (Linda), Darren Musico (Joanne), and Lori Gariepy (Jeff). Missed also by her extended family and countless friends.
Arlene spent her life giving, supporting, and loving those around her. Her strong will, generosity, grace, determination, and dignity were her hallmarks, even to the end. She touched the lives of many, and was devoted to her family, friends, church, and community. She had a love of gardening and was known for her ability to connect with people with her famous chats. Many thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, and St. Peter’s Hospital for all their wonderful care and compassion over the past months. Cremation has taken place, per Arlene’s wishes. Memorial Mass to be held 10:30 am on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 934 Highway #8, Stoney Creek. Guests are encouraged to wear blue or a bright colour of your choice in celebration of Arlene's bright and lively spirit. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society, St. Peter's Hospital or the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
