O’SULLIVAN, Dean Francis
Passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the age of 89. Survived by loving wife, Pat (nee Lommock). Cherished father to Jeffrey (Vicki) O’Sullivan, and Dr. Trish O’Sullivan (Dr. Brent Pilon). Proud grandfather to Violet, Summer, and Hope. Survived by sisters Marie (Ross) Chruckshank, Joanne (the late Earl) May, and Claire (Harold) Mollon. Dean will be dearly missed by extended family and friends. Dean will be long remembered for his humor and Irish stories. He was a leader of song for 30 years at St. Patrick’s Church. In 1954, he was ordained a priest and served 16 years in the C.R. Congregation as a teacher at St. Jerome in Kitchener, Scollard Hall in North Bay and St. Mary’s College in Kentucky were among his assignments. In 1970, he joined the staff as a history teacher at Burlington Central Highschool. Dean spent many years with the Burlington Choral Society as a tenor and Master of Ceremonies. Through the good and bad years, he cheered on his beloved Tiger Cats. After difficult years of pain and failing health, he remained a man of faith, of humor, and mostly love. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 196 Kenwood Avenue, Burlington on Saturday, July 15 at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow. Private cremation has taken place. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to St. Patrick’s Refugee Fund would be greatly appreciated.
