Obituary for Marjorie Louise Neprily (prev. Ross / nee Letwin)

Marjorie Louise Neprily (prev. Ross / nee Letwin)
NEPRILY, Marjorie Louise
(prev. Ross) (nee Letwin)

In her 89th year, on Monday June 12, 2017, Marjorie passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital. Marjorie will be missed by husband John Neprily. Predeceased by late husband Elliott Ross and eldest son Wayne Ross (Sylvia). Mother of Alvin Ross (Carol), Brenda Lapointe (Michael), and Cathy Donoahue. Proud grandmother of Erin Ross (Jay Handel), Laurie Parsons (Adam), Andrew Ross (Yael), Christopher Lapointe (Kate), Megan Eves (Matt), Matthew Lapointe, Michael Donoahue, Jaime Rankin (Matt), and Kelly Donoahue. Great-grandmother of Nora Rankin, William Parsons and Sienna Ross. Marjorie loved to play card games, especially euchre and cribbage. She took up Bridge in the last couple of years and played well. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and knitting and crocheting. Her claim to fame though was her baking. She made wonderful breads and a fabulous lemon meringue pie. Everyone loved her “jam jam” and oatmeal date cookies. Marjorie was one of 16 children born in Yorkton Saskatchewan. Surviving siblings are Alvina Palmer of Bracebridge Ontario, Rosalee Menard of Taylor Michigan, Marianne Bilyea of London Ontario and Lawrence Letwin of Windsor Ontario. A special thank you to Dr. Greenway and Dr. Michael Mills and the staff of 4 South and 4 East (Harleen, Tammy, Patrina) at Joseph Brant Hospital. You made mom’s last days very peaceful. Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Thursday June 15, 2017 from 6-8pm, where a Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday June 16, 2017 at 10:30am. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery in Burlington to follow. If desired, and in lieu of flowers, donations in Marjorie’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
