Phyllis Isobel  Hadley (MacKenzie)
Born in Canso, Nova Scotia to the late Delbert and Cora MacKenzie, Phyllis passed at the Village of Tansley Wood on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of Henry for 69 years. Cherished mother of Donald (Margaret) Hadley, Ann (Brian) Sellers, Karen (Al) Tereschyn and Gregory Hadley. Dear grandmother of Jessie (Justin), Ellen (Andy), Kirstan and Lisa and great-grandmother of Kate, Rosie and Hana. Phyllis was a longtime member of Wellington Square United Church and an avid volunteer for YMCA, Telecare and the Joseph Brant Museum. She will be greatly missed by her many extended family and friends. Our thanks to the outstanding staff at TansleyWoods Long Term Care, Appleby Neighbourhood for their wonderful care. A special thanks to Carol Blake, her friend, caregiver and advocate during the last 3 years. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Wellington Square United Church, (2121 Caroline Street, Burlington) on June 5 at 11:00 a.m.with a reception to follow. Interment at a later date at Mount Royal Cemetery in Montreal. For those who wish, donations in memory of Phyllis may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
