Obituary for James Anthony Weber

James Anthony Weber
“I Did it My Way”

WEBER, James Anthony aka "Sir"
December 3, 1939 - February 24, 2017

It is with profound sadness that we announce the loss of James Anthony Weber. Jim died suddenly, but peacefully in the company of his loving wife of 47 years, Patricia. Jim passed away towards the end of a very special Florida vacation spent with family and so many friends.

Jim's life was rooted in his faith. As a devout Catholic, rarely a day went by that did not start with morning Mass. This faith guided all he did and was the foundation for the love he shared with everyone he met.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Clayton and Angela, and by his sister Mary Anne and brother-in-law Carl Kazmierski.

He is survived by his siblings Monsignor John Weber and Angela Costigan. He will be sadly missed at the Keogh 500 by the extended Keogh clan.

Jim left this world as a proud Dad. As a father of five, he leaves behind his children Richard, John (Jodi), Patti, Jim Jr. (Alyson) and Jennifer (Brian). Jim's lifelong focus over the past 46 years was providing every opportunity to his children. With the loving support of Pat, they raised 5 children in a humble family home and sacrificed much to make sure their kids could build careers, experience the world and raise families of their own. He led by example, and taught his kids the values of integrity, selflessness, respect and hard work.

Jim's later years in life were special - devoted to cheering on his grandchildren. Whether it was hockey, drama, golf, dancing, Tae Kwon Do, Sparks or any other activity, Jim's grandchildren were his greatest joy. He leaves behind 11 grandchildren - Matthew, Michael, Ella, Sophie, Simon, Shawn, Megan, Carson, Erin, Kathy and Luke.

His life was also enriched by his many nephews, nieces, and in-laws, with whom he traded books, stories and jokes. He valued his many friends with whom he shared lunches, golfing and sporting events.

As a Chartered Accountant, Jim made a decision early in his career to enter education, affording him the ability to be present for his children's activities. He spent nearly 30 enjoyable and meaningful years at Mohawk College before his first retirement. Jim continued to work until his final days. This was motivated by the many cherished and lasting friendships, book clubs, lunches and the laughter he shared with so many, at Inter-Co, and others. In addition to his work, he had a passion for travel, reading, piano, golf and bridge.
