Hoytema, Charles Repko

On January 9th, 2017, in his 81st year, Charles passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital, surrounded by his family, as the result of a stroke. Beloved husband of Iris Jean Hoytema, and dear father of George Hoytema, Peter (Grace) Hoytema, Brenda (Donald) De Medeiros and stepfather of Conrad Gracie. Cherished Opa of Robin, Jacob, Andrew, Jonathan, Ethan, Sophia, Julia and Ella. Dear brother of Frances Cook and Jerry (Winnie) Hoytema. Predeceased by brother John Hoytema and fondly remembered by many friends.

Visitation will take place at Smith’s Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, (one stoplight north of QEW), Burlington, 905-632-3333, on Friday, January 13th from 3:00pm – 5:00pm and 7:00pm – 9:00pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Central Presbyterian Church, 165 Charlton Avenue, Hamilton, on Saturday January 14th at 1:00 p.m., with a Reception to follow. (Additional parking for the Memorial Service is available at Ryerson Middle School, 222 Robinson Street, Hamilton).

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the staff & doctors of the ICU at Joseph Brant Hospital, especially Dr. Dwight Prodger and nurses Melissa, Elsie & Theresa.

In lieu of flowers, donations to World Vision or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
