Obituary for Paula Elaine Beck (Morabito)

BECK, Paula Elaine
nee Morabito

We have lost our family leader. Paula Elaine Beck, wife of Warren, mother of Warren Junior and Christopher, Mother-in –Law of Natasha Bernard, and grandmother to cherished grandsons; Aven and Marcus. Survived by her brother Joseph (Eileen) of Vancouver and Jerry (Stacey) of Florida as well as many nieces and nephews. Paula was born in St. Catharines. After attending St. Patrick’s Catholic Elementary School and Cathedral Girls High School, she embarked on a teaching career that spanned over 35 years. Her distinguished teaching career took her to Guelph, Brantford and Hamilton where she enjoyed most of her Hamilton teaching career at Prince of Wales School. Paula had many high and respected qualities but her consideration for other people and her determination to succeed were probably her most outstanding. She never not finished what she had started, be it related to school, home or family. One of her greatest enjoyments was the organizing of family events, ranging from birthdays and anniversaries to just plain old “Sunday Dinners.” She loved to cook. During her teaching career and raising two sons, she managed to complete her B.A in just two years at McMaster University, graduating with honours. She was a Meals On Wheels volunteer for several years. A member of the Hamilton East Kiwanis Ladies Club, the co-chairperson of the first two Fortinos sponsored Heart Fund Dinners in 1980 and 1981. During the past 10 years of her life she was a front-line member of the Lady Hamilton Club, serving as Club President on two separate occasions. The family wish to thank the many care givers at Juravinski Cancer Centre and Hospital. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9p.m. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 10a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Paula to the Juravinksi Cancer Centre and Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
Paula, the world is a better place because you stopped by and made it better. Loved but never forgotten.
