Obituary for Jack Waters

Jack Waters
WATERS, John H. (Jack)

John H. (Jack) Waters died peacefully in his sleep at Carpenter Hospice on September 21, 2016.
In his 87 years of life, Jack had a great influence on the people of his community. As a young man in London, Ontario he was enthusiastically involved as a volunteer at the London YMCA and the Y’s Camp Queen Elizabeth. In the Burlington area, he was involved with the Burlington Family YMCA from its inception, Rotary Club of Burlington Lakeshore, and for many decades as a respected Financial Advisor. His down-to-earth, no-nonsense approach to investing, retirement and estate planning had a profound effect on many clients’ lives. As a fervent animal lover his whole life, there were times when we suspected Jack may have preferred animals to people!
He will be dearly missed by his wife and sweetheart, Joanne, his children Diane (Martin), Lori, John (Lisa), Andy (ReGina), Heather (Cam), Kim (Nick), Jess (BobbiJo), and by grandchildren Kaitlin, Nancy, Chris, Melissa, Katrina, Andrea, and Julie with first great-grandchild Eli.
A private family service celebrating Jack’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Carpenter Hospice of Burlington for their kindness shown to Jack in his final days, or to Jack’s favourite animal charity, The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada in Puslinch, Ontario.
