WINSTANLEY, Gerald Fletcher “Gerry” (P.Eng. Wales)
Passed away at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Carmen Winstanley (formerly Lepore). Predeceased by his first wife Diane (nee Thomas). Loving father of Charles Winstanley of London, England and Rachel and her husband Glenn Halcovitch of Burlington. Cherished Grandpa of Christopher, Nicholas and Jessica. Dear brother of Colin Winstanley (late Enfys) and Lina Wilson (late Warren) both of Wales. Gerry served in the Royal Artillery Survey Regiment with the British Army of the Rhine in Germany after World War 2. Gerry retired from Stelco as a Structural Engineer after many years of service. After retirement Gerry enjoyed cruising and ballroom dancing. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333 on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 12 noon until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family. www.smithsfh.com
