BOURNE, David Bruce
David Bourne peacefully passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the age of 87. Dearly beloved husband and lifelong friend of Barbara Bourne, loving father of David A. Bourne and partner Mary Jane Farrish, Brian D. Bourne and wife Blair Lancaster, Linda Kennedy and husband Bill Kennedy, and adored grandfather to Stephanie, Martin, Jade, Brian, David, Robert, Melanie, Alan, Christopher and Lynne and great grandfather to Matteo, Dante, Bianca, Kaleb, Kaija, brother of the late Elizabeth Gall and brother in law to Grant Murray and wife Shirley. A life time member and Elder of the Presbyterian Church, Retiree of Petro Canada and B P Oil, Former Officer of the Canadian Fusiliers City of London Regiment, The Toronto Scottish Regiment, The Essex and Kent Scottish Regiment. Retired in 1964 as 2 I.C. of the 3rd. Battalion Royal Canadian Regiment and member of the Royal Canadian Institute for 63 years. Former Board of Director of Muscular Dystrophy Canada, former Council member of the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario, a member of the Masonic Order of St. John's Lodge 209a A.F. and A.M. G.R.C. London, Ontario. Graduate of Western University 1951. Despite his struggle with neuromuscular disease, (CMT) since 1961, he bravely lived each day with grace and dignity loving his family and friends. "Go Now In Peace". Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Burlington East Presbyterian Church, 505 Walkers Line, Burlington on June 1, 2016 from 2p.m. until the time of funeral service at 3p.m. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of David are asked to please consider Neuromuscular Research - McMaster University c/o Steven Baker.
