Obituary for Friederike Rauscher

Mom passed away peacefully at the United Mennonite Home on Wednesday, May 25, 2016. Predeceased by her beloved husband John Rauscher. Dearly loved mother of Fred Rauscher and step mother of John Rauscher and Kurt Rauscher. She will be missed by her daughters-in-law; Brigitte and Barbara. Mom was also fond of her late daughter-in-law Betty. Mom will be missed by granddaughters; Sabrina, Simone, Susan, Joan, Kathy, Joanne, Terry and Doreen and grandson Johnny and their families. She is survived by sisters Lini and Resi and by brother Sepp. She will also be mourned by her close friend Lotte Robb. Mom and Dad had a tremendous marriage and worked hard together to form a new life after emigrating from Austria in 1954. They lived happily in a traditional relationship where Mom looked after the home while Dad was always steadily employed. They enjoyed a long retirement together traveling back to Austria on several occasions and spending many winters in Florida. Thanks to the staff at the United Mennonite Home for their ongoing professional care. Mom would often comment that the staff were very good to her. We are also grateful to Dr. James Woodland for looking after Mom's health and comfort right to the end. Private cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering will take place at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Saturday, June 4, 2016, from 3 - 6 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions to the Lincoln County Humane Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
