Obituary for Antonia Mungo (Garito)

MUNGO, Antonia (nee Garito)

With family by her side, Antonia passed away peacefully at Regina Gardens Nursing Home in Hamilton on Sunday, May 1st at the age of 90. Predeceased by her husband Rocco. Loving mother of Marie Bonitatibus (Joseph), Angela Schelter, Josie Di Nello (Livio), Ann Mulvale (Harry) and Domenic (Florence). Cherished grandmother of Silvio Bonitatibus, Ann-Marie Schneider, Antonette Bonitatibus-Condari, Karen Lewis, John Schelter, Mark Di Nello, Carla Bera, Angela Di Nello, Anthony Mulvale, Danielle Hastings, Christine Grant, Richard Mulvale, Matthew Mungo, Mark Mungo, their spouses, and Liliana Grisafi-Mulvale. Proud great-grandmother of 28 children. Predeceased by grandson Steven Bonitatibus and great-grandson Liam Mulvale. Beloved sister of John Garito (Rigoletta) and the late Nicolina and Ambrogio Battaglia. Sister-in-law of Franca and the late Angelo Mungo, and the late Frank and Catherine Mungo. She will be sadly missed by her many relatives and friends. Special thanks to Dr. Siu and the staff of Regina Gardens for their compassionate care. Sincere thanks to her dear friend Fr. Ron Cote. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8, STONEY CREEK on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 934 Highway #8, Stoney Creek on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions can be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, St. Eugene's Roman Catholic Church or the Cancer Assistance Program.
