Obituary for Ernest Bruce Sutherland

SUTHERLAND, Ernest Bruce
Passed away peacefully on April 29, 2016 at Juravinski Hospital. Much loved father of Jim, predeceased in 2003 by wife Fran. Devoted uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Lovingly remembered by special friend Clara. Bruce was a thoughtful friend to many. Born in Beachvillle, Ontario, Bruce joined the RCAF in 1941. Shot down over Germany, he spent 15 months in POW camps. Bruce retired from Stelco after 26 years of service. He was a life member of Victoria Curling Club, a member of the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum and an active member of Pioneer Memorial United Church. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Pioneer Memorial United Church, 1974 King St E, Hamilton on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 11a.m. until the time of a Celebration of Bruce’s life beginning at 12 noon. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Bruce are asked to please consider Pioneer Memorial Church or the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.
