BOUGHTON, Dorothy Jane (nee Meyers) -

Passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at The Brant Centre Nursing Home, Burlington, on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the age of 71 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Loving wife of the late Marvin Boughton (April 2009). Cherished mother of Nancy McKenzie (Mason), Cindy Pepetone (Chris), and Samantha Culliford (Steve). Proud grandmother of John, William, Alexandra, James, Zachary, Tess, and Charlie. Dorothy will also be missed by brothers; George Meyers (Anita) and Glenn Meyers (Linda), nieces and nephews; Teresa (Scott), Tanya, Elaine (Colin), Ian (Alison), and their families, as well as other extended family and many dear friends. Dorothy approached her life with a joy and happiness, always volunteering and lending an ear, a helping hand and nurturing her children, marriage, friendships and beautiful gardens. Dorothy maintained her poise, happiness and kindness throughout her journey. Dorothy was a volunteer for Joseph Brant Hospital and a long-time member of The Burlington Golf and Country Club, enjoying curling and as an organizer and participant of many bonspiels. The family wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Harpal Singh and to the staff of The Brant Centre for their compassionate care. Private cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, (905-632-3333), on Friday, April 29, 2016 from 4pm to 7pm.
