Obituary for Kathleen Edna McLean (Coles)
McLean, Kathleen E. (nee Coles)
1920-2016
Our guiding light and helping hand left this life peacefully on Friday, February 12th 2016, at Burloak Long Term Care Centre in Burlington Ontario, where she had resided for only one week. Predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph (1974) they can now be “Together Again” for eternity. Their love lives on in family left behind. Children and their spouses: Kenneth & Sheila McLean, Janet & the late Thomas Hayes, Douglas & Karen McLean. She was proud of her seven grandchildren and their partners: Stephen, Daniel, and Meredith Hayes & Justin Soegandi; Melanie McLean & Joe Francella; Heather McLean & Ian Stewart; Joseph McLean, Michael McLean & Holly Bohun. She especially enjoyed her great grandchildren Isaac and Ronan Hayes, Gracie-Lynn McLean, Sarah Francella, and Emmett Soegandi, and she was looking forward to the births of two more in May. The last of her generation in our family, she will be missed by nieces and nephews, and countless friends and good neighbours. Mom will always be remembered with love for her humour, kindness, generosity and constant dedication to family. Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 12 noon until a time of Funeral Service at 1pm. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Burlington to follow. Donations in Kathleen’s memory to a charity of choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
