She will be remembered with much love and fondness by her children John, Ted and his wife Brenda, Petra and her husband Brian Aikin, Angella Macartney and her partner Robert O’Hoski, Brenda and her husband Barry Walker. Oma cherished her grandchildren and they will miss her greatly - Joshua and Seth (John), Andria (predeceased), Aaron and his wife Leah and their son Elijah, Mark and his wife Meghan, Amanda and her husband John Versluis and their children William and Ava (Ted), Joel and Genevieve and her husband Karl Sudfeld (Petra), Christianna and Bailey (Brenda), Shannon and her husband Jack Soares and sons Joaquim and Mateo (Angella). Nellie is survived by her sister Jo and brother-in-law Cor van de Biggelaar in Holland.
She was blessed with a giving and healthy heart and made many friends throughout her life as a wonderful neighbour, community service worker (hospital, red cross, cancer society, Rotary club), tennis player, swimmer, down hill and water skier, avid bridge, card and game player and overall lover of life. Nellie was revered for her delicious soups and her adventurous culinary pursuits. Those who knew her are in awe of her approach to life.
