Obituary for Keith MacKenzie

Keith MacKenzie
MacKENZIE, Keith (Lefty)

Passed away peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital on Saturday, January 30th, 2016 in his 76th year, surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Diana (nee Dagg) for 50 wonderful years. Together Dad and Mom created a life filled with adventures, memories and a family that overflows with love. Cherished and loving father of Cathy (John), Christina (Christopher) and Matthew (Fataneh). His regular visits to keep us organized were a source of humour and we vow to keep our vehicles and garages clean, in his honour. Adoring Papa of Elizabeth, Alexander, Thomas, Tyler, Lauren, Breanna and William. He was often present for his grandchildren’s games or lessons and took great delight in the character and sparkle that each one possessed. Much loved brother of Eric MacKenzie, Myrna Adams and Reginald MacKenzie (Lucille) and brother-in law of Ron Steeves. Predeceased by his sister Paula. Despite distance, Keith was close with his family in NB and felt so fortunate to have spent more time with them all these past several summers at Caissie Cape, often reminiscing about his adventures there growing up and the mysterious cheque that each swore was in the mail. Keith was a long time employee of Wolseley (formerly Westburne) He loved his job and took great delight in running a tight ship and moving entire branches over the course of a weekend. He loved his life. He loved being organized. He loved ice cream. But most of all, he loved his family. He will be dearly missed. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Grace United Church 11 Chapman St. W. Port Dover on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. If desired, donations in memory of Keith to Grace United Church, Port Dover would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
