Obituary for Louise Girling (Jacklin)

Nana, as she was known to all, passed away peacefully at the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in her 97th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Stanley Girling in 1988 and her beloved husband David Neil in 1958. Cherished mother of Barry Neil (Glenda) and the late Barbara Konkle (George). Proud and loving grandmother of Debbie (Richard), Lori, Cam (Darcy) and Corry (Neil). Great-grandmother of Ben, Mark, Rachael, Matthew, Natasha, Carly, Barrett, Griffin and Sadie. Louise was the oldest of 6 siblings, all predeceased. Nana's home was a warm place where time stood still, where you were always a special and welcome guest, the food was out of this world delicious and the host was a serious force to be reckoned with. Her pies were in a class all by themselves! We are sorry to lose her, but are happy she got her wish, and lived all her days in that special place. As per Nana's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering will be held at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions to the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
