I knew Irene from the Christmas Eve gathering at the McNulty home, where she would entertain us with stories of her remarkable life. I'll remember her as a person who was no stranger to hardship, and who had achieved the great feat of being able to tell about those hardships with insight and even humor. Christmas Eve will not be the same without her.
