Condolence From: Doug Melnyk
Condolence: It was in a hockey rink in Minneapolis where I first heard of Tom’s passing, a teammate of Tom’s from Tallahassee had given me the news. I was absolutely shocked and saddened. Tom and I were teammates and roommates in Cincinnati and in the two years we spent together I got to know Tom well. Tom had a magnetism and confidence about him that people just seemed to gravitate to. He was the perfect example of someone who lived life to the fullest. In the time I got to know Tom I realized his ability as a hockey player was but a fraction of what contributed to the character that made up Tom Neziol. I will hold the memories I shared with Tom forever close to my heart. My deepest condolences go out to Tom’s family. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Doug Melnyk

Condolence From: Morgan McNichol
Condolence: I was very saddened to learn of Tom`s passing. Although I haven`t been in contact with Tom for a very long time, I will always remember living on Cartier Crescent in Burlington near Tom. Although 6 years my senior, he always had time to spend with younger kids in a highly positive way. I can see that theme obviously carried on throughout his life. Tom will be remembered. My condolences to all of Tom`s family.

Condolence From: Ken House
Condolence: We all have such great memories of Nez that we will always remember. He was always so much fun to be around. His quick laughter, charisma and enthusiasm for life was always contagious for those of us fortunate enough to spend time with him. I can see him now streaking down his left wing and letting go a high hard slap shot to the top far corner. He has touched the lives of many, many people who will keep Tommy alive through our great memories. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Neziol family, especially his daughter Joelle.

Condolence: Tom truly was a wonderful person. I had the pleasure of playing hockey with Tom at Miami as well as enjoying all of the other aspects of university life. Condolence From: Craig Fisher
Condolence: I was fortunate enough to play on the same line as Tom at Miami (you just had to love the easy assist, just pass it to Nez and let him rip one to the top corner!) and lucky to be his friend as well. When I first heard of this tragedy, I thought back to a special memory I have of Tom in our Miami years. One practice, Tom was accidently cut by a skate blade and it was actually a very serious cut. I was right beside him and I remember staring him straight in the eyes. I was in shock until I saw the courage and bravery in Tom`s eyes---an absolute will to live that I will never forget. Many years later,I had a serious hockey injury and on many tough nights I thought of that look in Tom`s eyes and found some courage of my own. I just wanted to let the family know that Tom had a great influence on all who met him and touched many people. Deepest regrets. Craig,Diane & Molly

Condolence From: Bill Davidge
Condolence: A joy to have coached and a joy to be part of his developmental years, Tom loved the game of hockey. The game and it`s association with friends, players and colleagues were all part of what Nez loved to embrace. Even through difficult trials, dishaeartening tribulations the excitement of what the game had to offer was what Tom cherished.....the curved stick...the high hard one....and I mean hard. Tom new the gmae was bigger than all of us and gave back when his day was done. We have lost a trooper down here on earth, but God has one of the best left wings and guys a coach could ever want. I`ll miss ya Nez....way too soon partner!!! May God be with you!!

I would say the ladies at Miami had a liking for him too! :) I am very saddened that his life was cut so short. He had a soft heart and cared alot about the people around him. I am grateful we crossed paths at Miami. My deepest sympathy goes to all his family and friends! Greg Dornbach

Condolence From: Colin Grant
Condolence: It`s sad that it takes a tragedy like this to realize how lucky we were to know someone. I worked with Tom for almost 5 years. Although at first, I had my doubts about a hockey player becoming a Finance Manager, Tom eventually won everyone over with his hard work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to listen and understand. What I will miss most about Tom is his smile and positive attitude. Although he was in a very stressful job, he NEVER lost his cool and was always able to work things out. He was a pleasure to be around.

Condolence From: Tim Abramis
Condolence: My first year a a season ticket holder to any sport was the 91-92 season for the Cyclones. Tom quickly became my favorite player and as most fans do with their favorite players, had his name and number emblazoned on my newly purchased jersey. He was such clutch player and always in the right place at the right time. I had never had the opportunity to meet a professional athlete before then, so meeting him after a game was a special highlight in my life and something I still hold very near and dear to me. Since then I have have met and in some cases become friends with several professional athletes, but when someone asks who the first pro I ever met was.....Tom Neziol. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Neziol family.

He was one of the most charismatic individuals I`ve ever known and had a love for sports like no other. In all the years of hockey, I`ve never seen anyone shoot the puck harder with such little effort... he was a natural gifted player. He will be sorely missed and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. God Bless.

Condolence: On behalf of the entire Gladiators (formerly the Mysticks organization) I would like to extend our condolences to the Neziol family. We were all deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I have had many thoughts about it, but I did want to say that I am glad that he had the chance to have a little girl. I can just imagine how he doted on her. I am heart-broken thinking of her. I used to enjoy sitting on the back porch of a little place out on the Causeway in Mobile, having a cold one and talking sports, life, good times and such with Tommy. He had a great passion for life. He could sure hit a hell of a three iron, too. Please know that we are thinking of you and please tell his daughter that her father was a good man. I`m sorry that I lost touch with Tommy, but I am glad to have known him.

Condolence: Borrowed Angels They shine a little brighter, they feel a little more They touch your life in ways no one has ever done before They love a little stronger, they live to give their best They make our lives so blest, so why do they go so soon? The ones with souls so beautiful I heard someone say There must be Borrowed Angels, here in this life They come along, into this world, and make this world bright But they can`t stay forever Cause they`re heaven sent And sometimes, heaven needs them back again They reach a little deeper, they see what`s in your soul And even when they leave you know, you`ll never let them go The world`s a little richer, just cause they came along Their love goes on and on, so why do they go so soon? The ones with souls so beautiful. I heard someone say There must be Borrowed Angels, here in this life They come along, into this world, and make this world bright They can`t stay forever, cause they`re heaven sent And sometimes, heaven needs them back again How else can you explain why they`re here and not here to stay? I believe there must be, must be Borrowed Angels, here in this life They come along, into this world, and make this world bright But they can`t stay forever, cause there heaven sent And sometimes heaven needs them back again. “until we meet again my friend"
